August 2008

Hello everyone!
It’s been a busy summer at Vespa and probably for you, too. There are a number of changes at the salon, and some upcoming holiday time that I wanted to share with you.

Personnel Changes
Reagan
is now on maternity leave – a bit earlier than anticipated, but both she and the baby are in good health. She becomes fatigued easily and is required to rest. Reagan asked that I pass on her thanks to everyone for their warm wishes and loyalty over the past year.

Kiki has moved back to Toronto due to her husband’s work and education. It was wonderful to have her skill and talent for the short time she was at Vespa, and I wish her success on her new journey.

I am actively advertising and interviewing for another senior stylist; in the interim, I’m holding down the fort with Courtney’s assistance.

Training
Courtney, Reagan and I attended a Colour class in July. It gave us further technique, skills, tips and tricks for our new colour line from Davines. We are having excellent success with all ranges in the line, including ash tones, which are traditionally difficult to achieve.

Summer Holidays
I will be on holidays – and the salon will be closed – on the following dates:
* August 4th, 5th, 6th
* August 18th – 25th
* August 27th , 29th

Construction Update
The building restoration is coming along well, with newly pointed brick everywhere. The front entry way will be re-opened in early August, with all the original wood detailing fully restored. In August, demolition at the back of the building will begin. During that time, I may need to close the salon on certain days due to power and water being temporarily turned off. I will make every attempt to give everyone advance notice of any temporary closures due to construction.

I wish everyone a wonderful August – hopefully the weather will get back to Summer so you can enjoy your back yards, cottages, pools, BBQs, etc.!

Sincerely,

Michael
